Lee Thompson Young
Lee Thompson Young, the former child actor who played “The Famous Jett Jackson” on the Disney Channel (starting at age 15) and had portrayed homicide detective Barry Frost on the TNT series “Rizzoli & Isles,” passed away at his Los Angeles home on Monday, August 19, 2013 at age 29. According to his manager, he took his own life.
At age 12, he traveled with his mother to New York City so she could attend the Union Theological Seminary, and shortly after their arrival, he got a theatrical agent.
In addition to his regular appearances on several television programs, he found the time to earn a production degree at the University of Southern California.
He’s survived by his mother and sister, and we extend our deepest sympathies to them and his friends.
We’d like to take this opportunity (while mourning Mr. Young’s passing) to remind current and former child performers that when things appear to be at their worst, A Minor Consideration stands ready, around the clock, to assist you with any help you might need. All you have to do is contact us and tell us what’s wrong. If we can’t solve your problem ourselves, we know tons of caring folks who can. That’s just one of the many reasons why our organization exists.
