Scott Schwartz comes to AMC after a memorable run as a child actor. Scott has been in showbiz since March of 1977 and has worked with such icons as Richard Pryor, Jackie Gleason, Liza Minelli, Richard Donner & Johnny Depp. From having co-starred in “The Toy” and “A Christmas Story” to being on Broadway, over 200 on/off camera commercials, episodic work, Scott never left the business but as with most former child actors, the business sort of left him.
Scott’s passion to assist former and current child actors comes from the heart. Over the past 10 years Scott has lost several co-stars and friends including Corey Haim, Gary Coleman and he’s seen many child actors go down the wrong road too many times.
Scott looks forward to helping as many former and current child actors as possible by not only sharing his experiences but giving them guidance based on his own experiences when he was a child. “Parents need to be educated as much as the children do, the world of show business isn’t an easy one, it’s filled with ups, downs, temptations, the media and of course a child making decisions that can change their lives in various ways”.
Scott has said “I’m tired of burying my friends and it’s time to get the kids of today mentally healthy so their futures aren’t such a mental & physical strain”. Scott looks forward to meeting with “the new generation” of kids/parents and getting some of his peers who aren’t informed about AMC to start doing something to help the generation of today.
